The NLSI shall bear no responsibility concerning whether the data in the Map Viewer is suitable for the use to which the customer intends to put it. All data is published in the state in which it is at any given time in the NLSI’s databases or when the Map Viewer has been updated.
As a result of the Icelandic government‘s focus to prevent illegal off-road driving and to restrict or prevent traffic in certain areas of the country, NLSI wants to take notice of that the users of the published data are responsible for monitoring if and when roads and trails are closed temporarily or permanently to public traffic. Such government measures reach further than information on roads and tracks that are in the NLSI databases at any time.
The customer is aware of that the quality of the data varies according to their origin, both as regards accuracy and reliability. The NLSI shall bear no liability for any possible consequences of this fact. Thus, the NLSI shall not be liable for loss or damage, direct or indirect, which the customer may suffer as a result of the use of data from NLSI, or of derived data, in excess of the extent that may be established under the Product Liability Law, No. 25/1991. In other respects, the NLSI declines liability to the extent permitted in law.
All types of liability, should it be imposed, in connection with the delivery or use of defective data shall be limited to the stated charge for delivery of the defective data.
The customer shall bear full liability towards the NLSI for processing and use of the data.
